The breaker trips, the outlet gets hot, the RCD trips on its own. Let's understand why.

A free checklist, the E-Nogueira site's electrical design tool (in Portuguese) and a 3-hour course so you know what's happening in your installation and what's safe to do yourself.

Three electricians, three diagnoses

You turn on the electric shower and the circuit breaker trips. One electrician says it's the breaker, another says it's the wiring, the third wants to redo the whole board. Without understanding current, circuit breakers and RCDs, you decide in the dark and pay for it.

This page brings together the path E-Nogueira uses with its own customers: understand first, then measure, and only then spend.

Special highlight

Who it's for

It's for you if:

  • you own a home, business or small farm and want to understand your distribution board before hiring anyone;
  • you're a helper or beginner and want the right basics, with NBR 5410 (Brazilian low-voltage installation standard, based on IEC 60364) explained;
  • your RCD trips on its own and you want to know where to start.

It's not for you if:

  • you want to learn to work on live circuits or on the utility's service entrance;
  • you need legally valid NR-10 training (Brazilian workplace safety standard for electricity) — this course isn't that;
  • you expect the course to make you an electrician in 3 hours.

The path, from problem to Pro

Four steps: the checklist by email, what you can do before calling someone, the entry course and Academy Pro.

1

Free checklist

Earthing and RCD: 8 items to test the RCD on your board and know what it protects.

2

Site tool

The site's Criador de Projetos Elétricos (electrical design tool): rooms, outlets and lighting points, circuits and materials list.

3

Entry course

EL1 Safe home electrics: 6 lessons, 3 hours, sold as a single course.

4

Academy Pro

All 23 courses and the private community for your field, with a monthly or yearly subscription.

Before calling someone: use the Criador de Projetos

The Criador de Projetos Elétricos is free to use on the E-Nogueira site. You draw the rooms, mark outlets and lighting points, and it groups the circuits and builds the materials list with lengths. It helps you talk to your electrician knowing what to ask for.

Open the Criador de Projetos →

What it doesn't do: it doesn't replace a design signed by a licensed professional when the utility or the job requires one.

Entry course: Safe home electrics

Safe home electrics: what everyone should know (EL1) · 6 short lessons · 3 hours · level 1 (fundamentals) · sold as a single course or included in Academy Pro.

By the end, you'll be able to:

  • calculate an appliance's current and understand why the circuit breaker trips;
  • recognize the signs of electric shock, short circuit, overload and fire risk before they turn into accidents;
  • explain what earthing and the RCD are for and test the RCD on your board;
  • read the distribution board: circuit breakers, circuits, RCD and conductors by color;
  • tell what's safe to do yourself from what requires a licensed professional;
  • request, compare and evaluate electrical work: scope, materials and warranty.

Each lesson has an example with numbers, a field checklist, review questions and a task in your own home. The course doesn't make you an electrician and doesn't replace NR-10 training: it produces a customer who knows what to ask and a beginner who knows where to stop.

After EL1

  • EL2 Your distribution board: circuit breaker, RCD and SPD demystified (level 1)
  • EL3 Circuits and conductors: sizing to the NBR 5410 method (level 2)
  • EL4 Residential electrical design: from survey to floor plan (with the site's Criador de Projetos) (level 2)
  • EL5 Lighting and basic home automation (level 2)
  • EL6 Testing, earthing and handover of the installation: NBR 5410 inspection report and lightning protection basics (level 3)

Together with the entry course and TR1 (Quotes, proposals and client relationships), they make up the Electrical: from zero to handover track. All included in Academy Pro.

What backs up what you'll read here

  • Since 2014 E-Nogueira has been doing electrical, HVAC, solar energy and electronic security work in homes, businesses and small farms around São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo, Brazil.
  • 33 Google reviews on E-Nogueira's Business Profile. They come from service customers, not students: the Academy is new and doesn't have student testimonials yet. When it does, they'll appear here.
  • Real job-site situations as the starting point of every lesson: the circuit breaker rated higher than the wire it should protect, the electric shower on a circuit with no RCD, the three-pin outlet with no earth connected.
  • Free tools on the site (in Portuguese): BTU calculator, PMOC generator, electrical design tool and solar sizing tool. Open to anyone, no Academy sign-up needed.

Who writes the courses

Marcelo Nogueira Souza — electrical technician · HVAC and refrigeration technician · E-Nogueira, São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo, Brazil, since 2014.

Every Academy course is written by him from what he does on the job, with each standard cited and explained the first time it appears. The technical basis is Brazilian (ABNT standards, laws and regulations); the principles apply in any country, and the text points out when a rule is local.

The certificate is an E-Nogueira Academy completion certificate: it records course hours and content. It's a non-degree course, not recognized by the MEC (Brazil's Ministry of Education), and it doesn't replace professional licensing.

Frequently asked questions

Clear your doubts about our courses

Do I need to know anything beforehand?
No. Just basic arithmetic; your phone's calculator is enough.
Will the course make me an electrician?
No. It produces a customer who knows what to ask and a beginner who knows where to stop. It doesn't replace NR-10 training.
Is the Criador de Projetos paid?
No. It's free to use on the E-Nogueira site. Course EL4 teaches you to use it from scratch to the PDF.
Is there a certificate?
Yes, an E-Nogueira Academy completion certificate for 3 course hours. It doesn't replace professional licensing.
How do I get the checklist?
By email, a few minutes after you submit the form. The form doesn't create an Academy account: the members area, the app and the private community are for Academy Pro subscribers. If it doesn't arrive within 10 minutes, check your promotions folder or message us on WhatsApp at +55 (11) 92053-5225.
