What you will learn?

Carry out the visual inspection of section 7 of NBR 5410 with a checklist that separates conforming, non-conforming and not verifiable.
Choose and check the right instrument for each test: multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter, earth tester and RCD tester.
Measure the continuity of the protective conductor and of the equipotential bonding and the insulation resistance, and interpret the values.
Test the RCD (current and time) and verify, through the loop impedance, whether the circuit breaker trips in time.
Recognize the earthing scheme (TN-C-S or TT), measure the resistance of a rod and know what the number means.
Explain the basics of lightning protection and issue an inspection report with photos, measurements, non-conformities and a correction plan.

About this course

A good installation is not one that lights up. It is one that has been verified. This course teaches the final verification that NBR 5410 (the Brazilian low-voltage installations standard, derived from IEC 60364) requires before an installation is handed over for use: the visual inspection with a checklist, and the tests, with numbers in hand. You will measure the continuity of the protective conductor all the way to the last socket, the insulation resistance of each circuit with the megohmmeter, the RCD trip time and the loop impedance that makes the circuit breaker trip. You will understand the TN-C-S and TT earthing schemes, what the utility asks for at the service entrance, and how to measure a rod by the fall-of-potential method or with the clamp earth tester. You will see the basics of lightning protection (SPDA) under NBR 5419:2026 and why it is not "just a lightning rod". At the end, you build an inspection report with photos, measurements, non-conformities and a correction plan. There are 8 lessons of 40 minutes with worked examples from jobs in the interior of São Paulo state. The course teaches the method. A report with legal value requires a qualified professional, and the course does not replace that qualification. Lightning protection design and medium voltage are left out.

Requirements

Have completed EL2, EL3 and EL4, or master: circuit breaker, RCD and SPD; conductor sizing and the rule IB ≤ In ≤ Iz; reading a design and a circuit schedule.
To carry out the tests: NR-10 training (the Brazilian electrical safety regulation; use the equivalent in your country) and authorization from whoever is responsible for the job. The RCD and loop impedance tests are done with the installation energized. If you do not yet have this training, do the tasks alongside a qualified professional, or use the course to understand and check the report you receive.
Access to at least one multimeter. A megohmmeter, an earth tester and an RCD tester can be borrowed or rented for the final project; the course shows what to look for.

FAQ

You leave knowing how to carry out and record the verification. A report with legal value, the kind that an insurer, the Fire Department, the city hall or a company asks for, must be signed by a legally qualified professional, with the technical responsibility document when required. The course does not replace that qualification. The report you learn to make is the technical handover document of your own service and the basis that a qualified professional checks and signs.
Yes, to understand what an inspection report is, what it must contain and how to tell whether what you received has real measurements or is just a piece of paper. Lessons 1 and 8 and the "Understanding" parts of the others were written with you in mind.
No. To follow the course, it is enough to understand each one. To work with verification, a good-category multimeter and an RCD test instrument are the start. A megohmmeter and an earth tester can be rented until the volume of work justifies buying them.
No. Lesson 7 gives basics of lightning protection (SPDA) under NBR 5419:2026: when it is required, what its parts are and how it works together with the SPD in the board. Lightning protection design requires risk analysis and a qualified professional.
Yes. It is a certificate of completion from E-Nogueira Academy. It proves that you took the course, but it does not replace professional qualification or NR-10 training.
