What you will learn?

Explain what the filter, coil, drain pan and drain do and what dirt causes in each.
Separate what the owner does, what is a technician's service and what requires a refrigeration technician.
Clean the indoor unit of a hi-wall split with protection, the right product, rinsing and drying.
Clean the outdoor unit, check the fan and test the drain with water.
Measure current, voltage, temperatures, delta T and noise, and know when a reading calls for another professional.
Record the visit in a report with photos and propose a frequency and a contract.

About this course

Almost every split that "stopped cooling" did not break: it slowly got sick. Clogged filter, dirty coil, drain pan full of sludge, blocked drain, outdoor unit full of dust. Each of these costs efficiency, energy and, in the end, the unit itself.

This course starts with what each part does and what dirt does to it. Then it shows the maintenance traffic light: what the owner can do alone, what is a technician's service and what is only for the refrigeration technician. Next you follow a complete cleaning of a 12,000 BTU/h split in a commercial room, step by step, plus the cleaning of the outdoor unit and the drain. In the final module you learn the five measurements that tell you whether the unit is healthy, put together a report with photos and turn the visit into a routine and a contract.

The course does not teach compressor or board repair or refrigerant handling (that is CL6). It does not give professional qualification.

Requirements

No previous course. CL1 (BTU in practice) helps you understand the refrigeration cycle.
For the technician's practical parts (A1): a multimeter with a clamp ammeter rated CAT III 300 V or higher, a digital thermometer, gloves, glasses and a suitable ladder.
Access to a real split for the final project (yours, a relative's or a client's who authorizes it).

FAQ

You will be able to do your part safely: filter, casing, observation and record. And you will know how to hire and check the full preventive service. Cleaning the coil and taking electrical measurements are shown so that you understand and can ask for them, not so that you do them without preparation.
No. It teaches preventive maintenance in a technical and safe way, but it is not a professional qualification. Anyone who works on an electrical installation needs the specific NR-10 training (the Brazilian electrical safety regulation), and work above 2 m with a risk of falling requires in-person NR-35 training (the Brazilian work-at-height regulation).
No. Refrigerant, detailed pressures, leaks, brazing and compressor are the subject of CL6. Here pressure appears only as a reading that the refrigeration technician takes and that you need to interpret roughly.
Yes. The main example is a commercial room. For businesses and spaces of collective use, Brazilian law requires a PMOC (maintenance, operation and control plan for air-conditioning), and the course bridges to CL5, which deals only with that.
The principle applies anywhere: a split gets dirty the same way in any country. The standards cited are Brazilian. Outside Brazil, check your local code; the international reference for the principle is ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180.
