What you will learn?

Plan the climb onto the roof with a risk analysis, a fall protection system suited to the height, and a rescue plan.
Transfer the design layout onto the roof: rows, edges, maintenance path, microinverters, AC trunk and serial-number map.
Fix the structure on ceramic tile, fibre-cement, metal roofing and slab without leaks, with measured torque.
Wire the DC side with compatible cable and connectors, with polarity and voltage per module checked before connecting.
Calculate current, cross-section, circuit breaker and voltage drop of the AC trunk, and specify the RCD and SPD up to the connection point at the board.
Bond the structure, test the rapid shutdown, label it and deliver the commissioning with measurements.

About this course

You already know how to size the system. Now you need to build it with no leaks, no loose connectors and no surprises at the inspection. This course follows one job from start to finish: seven photovoltaic modules and two microinverters on a ceramic-tile roof in inland São Paulo state. You plan the climb according to what NR-35 (the Brazilian work-at-height regulation) requires of anyone working at height, mark the layout on the roof, fix the structure on ceramic tile, fibre-cement, metal roofing and slab, wire the DC side with compatible connectors and checked polarity, calculate current, cross-section, circuit breaker and voltage drop of the AC trunk, choose the RCD and SPD, bond the structure, label the rapid shutdown required by NBR 17193:2025, and carry out commissioning with measurements and a checklist. The course does not teach structural design, does not detail large string inverters (it only compares them) and is not NR-35 training: it shows what NR-35 requires. Nor does it replace the professional licence required to sign off on the job.

Requirements

Have completed SO1 and SO2 (or master kWp, module–microinverter pairing and reading a single-line diagram).
Know how to use a multimeter, a clamp meter and a torque wrench. EL2 and EL3 help with the board and conductors part.
To carry out a real job: valid in-person NR-35 training and NR-10 training. This course replaces neither.

FAQ

No. Since Ordinance MTE 1.259/2026, NR-35 training is exclusively in person. The course shows what the standard requires of anyone working on the roof and how that fits into the job plan. The NR-35 certificate comes from in-person training with hands-on practice.
Structure, mounting, earthing, signage and commissioning apply to both. The electrical part focuses on microinverters. The high-voltage DC side of the string inverter (string box, fuses, DC disconnect, DC SPD) appears only as a comparison.
Yes. Every lesson ends with a field checklist that works for inspection. The tasks ask for photos and measurements that you can require from the installer at handover.
The course gives typical ranges so you can recognise an absurd value. The number that counts is the one in the manual of the structure, module and microinverter manufacturer. Keeping the manual and noting the value applied is part of the handover.
The physics, the assembly sequence and the logic of protection and earthing apply anywhere. The standards cited are Brazilian and derive from IEC 62548 (PV arrays), IEC 60364 (installations) and IEC 62305 (lightning protection). Outside Brazil, check the local electrical code (for example NEC in the USA, or codes based on IEC 60364), the local work-at-height rule and the utility's procedure.
