What you will learn?

Explain the path of the energy from the module to the grid and what kWp, kWh and an energy credit are.
Compare microinverters (MLPE) and string inverters on voltage, shade, monitoring, failure and warranty.
Calculate the kWp for your consumption with the formula consumption ÷ (HSP × 30 × 0.75) and estimate generation month by month.
Use the site's solar sizing tool and know what only a technical visit can see.
Read a quote and compare proposals in a table using the same criteria.
Follow the utility approval process and understand the Fio B of Lei 14.300.

About this course

You asked for three solar quotes and got three different numbers: different sizes, different prices, different promises of savings. This course shows where each number comes from. You will follow the path of the energy from the module to the meter, learn what your electricity bill measures and what an energy credit is. You will see what changes when every module has its own microinverter (MLPE) instead of a string inverter: voltage on the roof, shade, monitoring and what happens when a part fails. Then you will do a preliminary sizing of your own consumption using the same calculation as the solar sizing tool on the e-nogueira.com.br site, with a complete worked example. Finally, you will read a quote item by item, compare proposals in a table and understand the utility approval process (homologação) with the distribution company (distribuidora) and the transition rule of Lei 14.300. The course does not replace a detailed design or installation by a qualified professional, and it does not promise exact savings: it gives ranges and shows the assumptions.

Requirements

Be able to do the four basic operations and use your phone's calculator.
Have your electricity bill at hand (preferably with the 12-month history).
No previous experience with electricity or solar energy.

FAQ

No. It teaches you to understand, pre-size and compare. Installation involves work at height, direct-current electricity and a design signed by a qualified professional.
You will know how to calculate a range of savings with clear assumptions. Nobody can guarantee an exact number: generation changes with the weather, and the tariff and the compensation rules change over time.
It is not required, but it helps. The final project asks for two quotes. If you do not have them yet, the course shows what to ask for so that you receive them in the same format.
Lesson 2 compares the two honestly and shows when the string inverter still makes sense. The quote-reading criteria work for both types.
The physics applies anywhere: module, inverter, kWp, kWh and peak sun hours. The compensation rules, the utility approval process and the standards cited are Brazilian. Outside Brazil, check your country's net-metering or feed-in rules, the electrical code and your utility's connection procedure.
