What you will learn?

Check whether an energizer and a fence comply with NBR IEC 60335-2-76 and Law 13.477/2017: pulse, energy, signs, height and clearances.
Design a property's perimeter: rods, corners, gates, height changes, property lines with neighbors, trees and the utility's power lines.
Build the fence with dedicated earthing, connect it to the energizer and measure the pulse voltage wire by wire with a fence voltmeter.
Choose and wire a magnetic lock, electric strike or electric lock with power supply and battery, push button and an emergency exit that releases without a key.
Cable an intercom, video intercom and card, PIN and biometric readers, with the relay logic on the protected side and LGPD (the Brazilian data protection law) applied to biometrics.
Integrate fence, alarm and cameras in a "what triggers what" table, test everything and hand over with a statement, signs and maintenance.

About this course

A badly installed electric fence brings fines, lawsuits and accidents: a wire within arm's reach, a missing warning sign, the earth wire tied to the house's distribution board, an energizer (fence energizer) without the Inmetro seal. A door with a badly wired magnetic lock traps people inside during a fire. This course teaches you to do the job in the way that protects you and your client. In module 1, you read what NBR IEC 60335-2-76 (the Brazilian standard for fence energizers, derived from IEC 60335-2-76) requires of the energizer and of the installation, and what Brazilian Federal Law 13.477/2017 and your city's law demand. In module 2, you design and build a real fence, with a worked example of a 60 m wall with two gates: rods, wires, signs, dedicated earthing (grounding) and measurement with a fence voltmeter. In module 3, you build the access control: magnetic lock, electric strike, electric lock, power supply with battery, push button, intercom, video intercom and card, PIN and biometric readers, with the emergency exit that the Fire Department requires and with biometrics handled as sensitive data. In module 4, you integrate fence, alarm and cameras and hand over with tests, a handover statement and a maintenance plan. Rural fences for animals and corporate networked access control are out of scope.

Requirements

Have completed EL1 (or know how to work with the circuit de-energized, RCD, earthing and a multimeter).
Recommended: SE3 (alarm control panel, zones, zone types, siren and programmable output).
Tools: fence voltmeter (measures the pulse voltage in kV), multimeter, hammer drill, tape measure, pliers, wire strainer, a stable ladder or scaffold and a work-at-height harness.

FAQ

A fence with an energizer that complies with the standard gives a very painful shock, short and spaced out, with limited energy per pulse. That is what Law 13.477/2017 requires when it orders compliance with ABNT. The real risk comes from an energizer outside the standard, from a "fence" connected straight to the mains, from a wire within a child's reach and from a missing sign. The course teaches you to eliminate each of them.
Lesson 1 gives a checklist that you complete from the sidewalk and the yard, without opening anything: height of the first wire, signs on both sides at intervals of no more than 10 m and at every gate, an energizer with the Inmetro seal, a dedicated earth rod and clearance from the power line. Anything that fails becomes a request for correction to the installer.
It depends on the city. The federal law applies nationwide; many cities have their own law, with a minimum height, distance between signs, a rule for the boundary with the neighbor and a requirement for a responsible technician. Lesson 1 teaches where to look and what to check before quoting.
No. A rural fence for animals uses a different energizer and different installation rules. Corporate networked access control (turnstiles, hundreds of users, server software) appears only as a mention. A gate motor is covered only where it touches integration. The course covers homes, shops and small condominiums, with one to four access points.
No. You learn to read the datasheet and manual of any manufacturer: energy per pulse, reach in meters of wire, lock current, holding force, failure mode, reader protocol.
