What you will learn?

Explain how an alarm control panel decides to trigger: zones, zone types, delays, siren, battery and tamper.
Choose the right sensor for each room and place it away from the causes of false alarms.
Design the zoning of a house and of a shop in layers: perimeter, interior, 24 h and panic.
Install wiring with an end-of-line resistor, size the cable and battery, and earth (ground) according to NBR 5410.
Configure communication by landline, 4G cellular, IP and app, checking the Anatel approval.
Test each zone, reduce false alarms, integrate with CCTV and deliver with a written term, manual and maintenance plan.

About this course

The alarm that goes off at 3 a.m. for no reason gets switched off by the customer in the third week. After that, it protects nothing. This course exists so that you do not deliver that alarm, and so that buyers can recognize it before they pay.

In 5 hours, split into 8 short lessons, you learn how the control panel thinks (zones, sensors, siren, battery), choose the right sensor for each room (passive infrared, dual technology, magnetic, beam, glass break, pet immune) and build the zoning of a house and of a shop, with a worked example. Then you install: wiring with an end-of-line resistor, power supply, battery with an autonomy calculation, earthing (grounding) according to NBR 5410 and communication by landline, cellular, IP and app, using a product approved by Anatel. Finally, you configure passcodes and users, test zone by zone, eliminate the causes of false alarms and integrate with CCTV.

The content was written by Marcelo Nogueira Souza, electrical technician and HVAC-R technician. E-Nogueira has installed alarms, CCTV and access control since 2014 in the São João da Boa Vista region, São Paulo. The course closes with your own designed alarm: a floor plan with zones, a bill of materials, a test plan and a 1-page user manual.

Base técnica: the international family of intrusion alarm standards (IEC 62642, published in Brazil as ABNT NBR IEC 62642-1, and the European EN 50131), the Brazilian standard for electrical installations (ABNT NBR 5410:2004 (corrected version 2008), derived from the IEC 60364 family), degrees of protection (IP) (ABNT NBR IEC 60529), Anatel approval rules (the Brazilian telecom regulator), NR-10 and NR-35 (Brazilian regulatory standards for electrical safety and work at height) and the Consumer Protection Code. The logic of zones, sensors, supervised wiring, battery and testing applies in any country; outside Brazil, check your radio-approval body and the local rules for audible alarms and monitoring.

Requirements

No mandatory course. Recommended: SE1 (CCTV today), because lesson 8 integrates alarm and cameras and uses terms that SE1 explains.
Basic notion of electricity: voltage, current, positive and negative pole. If you do not have it yet, you can follow along, but you will need help in lesson 5.
A simple multimeter helps with the installation tasks (measuring resistance and voltage). It is not mandatory for A0.
A phone with a camera, a tape measure and graph paper (or a drawing app) for the design tasks.

FAQ

No. It gives you the complete method for designing, installing, configuring and delivering a small residential or commercial alarm, with worked examples. Installing well takes on-the-job practice. The part connected to the electrical grid (outlet, circuit, earthing) follows NBR 5410 and is done with the circuit de-energized and absence of voltage confirmed, by a licensed professional where the standard requires it.
No. Lesson 6 explains how monitoring works (the event leaves the panel, reaches a monitoring station, an operator verifies and dispatches), so that you can configure the communication and guide the customer. Monitoring third-party systems is a private security service (Law 14,967/2024, art. 5, VI) and requires authorization from the Federal Police; SE5 covers that topic.
Yes. Zoning, sensor choice and position, battery, Anatel approval, testing and false alarms apply equally. The wiring in lesson 5 applies to the wired part; for the wireless part, you learn what to look at: range, battery, supervision and interference.
No. E-Nogueira Academy does not name brands or suppliers. You learn to read the manual and data sheet of any manufacturer and to compare on what matters.
No. Those places require certified systems at high security grades, with their own rules and, often, insurer requirements. The course covers houses, farms and small businesses (bakery, small grocery, clinic, office). Lesson 1 shows what the grades are, so that you know when the job is bigger than this course.
